The inception of the Jewish people and the origins of Judaism
The origins of the Jewish people trace back to a nomadic group that endured harsh treatment as slaves in Egypt. According to divine revelation, their leader Moses, guided by the proclamation of God promising them a land in Israel, miraculously parted the seas, leading to a successful escape from Egypt.
The Ten Commandments, a set of rules inscribed by the God Yahweh, are given to the liberated Jewish people. The beginning of Judaism lies in adhering to these commandments and professing faith in Yahweh. Having gained freedom, the Jewish people establish a new nation in Israel. However, they face invasions from other nations, leading them to revert to a life reminiscent of their former oppression.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the Jewish people steadfastly maintain their faith and the observance of the Ten Commandments. This fosters a prevailing belief that only those who adhere to the commandments will be saved. Judaism becomes a religion for the Jews, by the Jews, with the ideology of being chosen by God. This concept of chosenness becomes the underlying cause of discrimination against Jews, who are expelled from their homeland and scattered across the world.
